Derrick Oboubie Jnr, known by his stage name J.Derobie, is a Ghanaian dancehall, Raggae, and Afrobeat singer from. He was born in the Northern Region but later came down to stay at Nungua, in the Greater Accra of Ghana. J.Derobie sings in English and Patois with the ability to mix it with Twi, Hausa, Dagbani, and Ga. He was born on the 27th of August, 1994 in the Northern Region of Ghana. He started as a dancer and later ventured into singing at the age of 13. He draws inspiration from the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Mr. Eazi, Stonebwoy, Chronixx, Popcaan, Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Masicka, and R2bees J.Derobie was discovered through Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa initiative in 2018 as his entry video went viral.
