J.DEROBIE SET TO DROP HIS FIRST STUDIO ALBUM ON DECEMBER 8 2022

Derrick Oboubie Jnr, known by his stage name J.Derobie, is a Ghanaian dancehall, Raggae, and Afrobeat singer from. He was born in the Northern Region but later came down to stay at Nungua, in the Greater Accra of Ghana. J.Derobie sings in English and Patois with the ability to mix it with Twi, Hausa, Dagbani, and Ga.

He was born on the 27th of August, 1994 in the Northern Region of Ghana.




He started as a dancer and later ventured into singing at the age of 13. He draws inspiration from the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Mr. Eazi, Stonebwoy, Chronixx, Popcaan, Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Masicka, and R2bees

J.Derobie was discovered through Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa initiative in 2018 as his entry video went viral.

On 11th January 2019, his first-ever music video for his ‘Poverty’ song which was released attracted a lot of local and international attention.

Music Super Star’s like Mr. Eazi, Popcaan, Sarkodie, Kranium, StoneBwoy, Samini, DJ Frass, Shatta Wale, and many others took to the Internet to appreciate the great work done by J.Derobie on the ‘Poverty’ project.

On the same day of release. The ‘Poverty’ song made it to number one on iTunes world chart and the music video took number one on World Reggae Dancehall music videos for three weeks.


J.Derobie made it to the top ten of the Empawa100 initiative and was invited to Cape Town, South Africa for a music masterclass with Empawa Africa and leading stakeholders in the music business.

J.Derobie did a remix with Jamaican superstar Popcaan for the hit single ‘Poverty'.

J.Derobie Is known for his songs like Adwoa,Ato Me so, Poverty ,Bruk Off and odo bra. Recently he released An EP which he titled it THE NUNGUA DIARIES


which is made up of six Solid tracks in the Ep and it has Accumulated 996k Playings on Audiomack .

J.Derobie took it to Facebook to announced His Debut Album which he titled it GRAINS FROM THE LOVE AND REALITY And I Quote ‘Glad to announce the release of my debut Album titled Grains From Love & Reality. I can’t wait to share this lovely piece of art with you all tomorrow after a long break. I’ve got some amazing features on this project and it’s very dear to me.’’ And He also the shared the Cover art for the album and the Track List for the Album on his Facebook page
